As Christmas ends, and we finish enjoying the New Year celebrations it’s easy to slip into the winter misery. Despite being optimistic about the fresh start ahead, it can be easy to fall into the post-holiday blues. That’s because they host a festival from the 8th January all the way up until the 26th January where it will be rounded off with an Australia Day celebration.

Iceland

Iceland is truly a unique experience; the benevolent destination really does stand-alone and makes for the perfect start of year getaway. It doesn’t take long to travel from the UK and they also have the famous Northern Lights to enjoy. There are countless activities to enjoy including whale watching, horse riding, the blue lagoon, city breaks and much more. There’s not many better starts to the year, come back reinvigorated and ready to tackle everything that comes your way.

Take a look at some gorgeous hotels in the area and find something exciting to do. It’s not the cheapest place to visit, but it is well worth the money and is only a 6-7 hour flight from the UK. This has to be up there for solutions to a January getaway.

You’ll be hard-fetched to beat a more reliable sunspot during January time. The country experience a dry season between December and April.
