A computer hacker utilised a phone app to sneak his way into an airport business lounger. According to Telegraph the individual used his expertise to fake a boarding pass ticket on his phone.

Luckily this didn’t mean that there were any security threats at the airport in Istanbul but instead just a cheeky attempt at free refreshments. The ticket was created within seconds and he took to the Internet to showcase exactly how easy it was. With it not taking long, the security in place still believed that he was in possession of a rightful pass.

The hacker is yet to try the attempt outside of Europe and is unsure whether the same technique would work in other places.

What This Means to Airports and the Boarding Pass?

The business lounge services will have to rethink their ticketing system with their current passes and tickets being easily hackable. Anybody can change the details and find a way into these comfortable domains.
